L’île des Médias is an independent digital agency created in Paris (France) in 1996. Directed by its founders, the company is specialized in the implementation of marketing solutions based on latest reliable technologies with a team of a 20 people.
Our trade is to accompany our customers in their digital projects by integration within the company by the whole scope of needed competences on the basis of the council, while passing by the design to the production, marketing and hosting-maintenance.
Mainly focused towards the Internet and the mobile, the company opened in 2006 a department dedicated to wide interactive touch surfaces which was illustrated in particular in the digital signage through its wayfinding software ViaDirect which is now deployed with more than 108 kiosks out of 4 countries in Europe as of September 2011, in shopping malls, hospitals, subways stations or retail stores.
Our agency is one of the precursors in this domain and the European leader of these specific services with nearly 200 interactive tactile installations currently in service in public areas.

User interface
That relates to the design of screen organization (wireframe) and the actions which the user can carry out (storyboard), on interaction modes with the screen contents and finally on the overall graphic design.

IT development
Any digital installation includes an computing development whose languages used can vary according to the nature of the project. Our teams work daily in. Net, C#, Php, SQL, Flash.
Systems and networks architecture
The majority of the digital installations are inter-connected with external information systems either to post brought up to date contents, or to interact with third party solutions (social networks, text messaging, email,…) or to take measurement of behavioral audience. In addition the facilities management and the maintenance of the installations require that they are monitored and administrable remotely. These operations require design, implemented and maintenance of architectures implying of the client side, the server side, the internet connections, of the protocols…

Fitting and integration
A digital installation has furniture and technical elements that cannot be dissociated from the software design and ergonomics, neither interaction between touch technology, PC and screen used with the software. The design of furniture elements exploiting sophisticated technologies requires a thorough knowledge of the physical problems between the elements of furniture and the technological components, which makes it possible to operate, in order to ensure the correct operation of the installation, its sustainability and its maintainability.
L’île des Médias has a network of manufacturing (carpenters, sheet-iron merchants) with which we work to produce the fittings that we design for our customers.

Facilities management and maintenance
From their often evolutionary and connected contents and of the technology embarked within its fittings, the digital installations must rest on a management facilities and a rigorous maintenance in order to guarantee that they will be constantly accessible to the users.
Our teams developed and exploit a whole of solutions allowing the equipment and the software monitoring through network remote control tools even electrical devices. This enables us to regularly maintain the installations, to be warned in real time of the dysfunctions and to quickly intervene by remote takeover.
